Calling all mini-sprinters: Sports and fun for kids at Dénia Marina
Kids who need to burn off some excess energy will have a ball at Dénia's annual MiniSprint – now in its second year and packed with fun stuff to keep the little ones entertained all afternoon.
Running races for children aged 12 and under – with no minimum, so even toddlers can join in – are free of charge to enter and different categories mean competition is fair and enjoyable.
In fact, it's not that competitive, really – just enough to be exciting: prizes are awarded to the first 200 past the finishing line, which means practically every competitor will walk away with a souvenir of their achievement.
Free hot chocolate is given out to all kids taking part, and a mix of other, nonsporting activities mean every child will find something to do to keep them amused: craft workshops where they can learn about building and making stuff, and face and hand painting will suit those with a creative flair.
Youngsters will be under starters' orders from 16.00 on Saturday, January 19 at Dénia's El Portet Marina.
Entering doesn't cost a cent, but adults should preregister mini-participants to avoid disappointment – they can do this via the website www.somesport.com up to noon on the day.
