Children benefit from Christmas aid
Forty boys and girls from Benitachell enjoyed an extracurricular Christmas school during the festive period at no cost to their parents. This was made possible because of a generous €1,000 funding donation from the AVIB (Association of International neighbours of Benitachell), formed by Cumbre del Sol residents.
The children enjoyed a wide range of activities including handicrafts, traditional games, sports, and Christmas related workshops. This enabled their parents to continue working rather than having to take holidays or pay for extra childcare.
Three young adults currently seeking jobs were also temporarily recruited by social services as assistants, under a social programme of work experience.
Toni Colomer, councillor for social rights, thanked the AVIB publicly for their valuable aid.
