Cash to help cut unemployme­nt

JÁVEA town hall has hired five new specialist workers to work on employment programmes after receiving a grant from the regional government worth over €94,500.

The civil servants will work on the Emcorp programme, which assists unemployed people aged over 30 and the Emcord scheme which works with long term jobless people.

The subsidy was made available from Valencia’s sustainabl­e economy project. Emcorp will receive nearly €50,000 and the town hall has hired two full-time administra­tive assistants to work over the next six months in the personnel and urban department­s; Emcord received almost €45,000 and will employ two administra­tive staff and an assistant working in the department­s of services, recruitmen­t and culture.
