Taps flow but billing is suspended in Jávea

-

Jávea's municipal water company AMJASA has suspended billing for water during the coronavirus state of emergency to help the community.

Invoices will not be issued and the company confirmed it would not pass on charges in the next round of receipts, guaranteeing the town’s residents access 'to an essential need'.

And once the crisis is over, the water company will look at the possibility of utilising discounts and paying by instalments - looking at customer accounts on a 'case by case' basis to take into account the individual position of private clients and companies. This will be done in coordination with the town hall departments of social services and economic development and finance. Customers are reminded the water supply is constantly monitored to guarantee its quality and it is it remains 'totally safe' as its treatment includes a disinfecting agent that guarantees any viruses and bacteria are killed. As part of the emergency protocol, AMJASA has restricted face-to-face contact at its offices. Customers can call 96 579 01 62 or email amjasa@ amjasa.com for help or to answer queries; they can also use the AMJASA virtual office.
