RESIDENTS of Teulada and Moraira are being praised for their efforts during the health crisis, as just fifteen people have been penalised for breaking regulations.

During the first week of lockdown, the police identified 99 people on foot and stopped 334 vehicles. Not only are the local police patrolling the town daily, but they set up a citizen service telephone number for any questions about the state of alarm and the health crisis.

In the first week of operation, more than 260 calls were answered, most of which were regarding travel regulations. Other questions raised were for the care of the elderly and dependent people, the possibility of working in closed premises and administrative procedures.

The telephone number for enquiries is 965 74 01 58, extension 1224. It is open from 11.00 to 13.00 and from 17.00 to 19.00.

“We want to remember the importance of complying with the regulations and the need to stay home for the health of all citizens. The local police are doing a great job of informing, and punishing anyone who flouts the law, as it is endangering the entire town. Thanks to the agents and also to the members of civil protection for the great work they are doing and to our residents, as most of them are behaving in an exemplary manner”, said Mª José Vidal, councillor for security of Teulada Moraira.
