Castellón saves

Castellón residents are keeping more money in the bank than the national average.

A study by the Valencian Institute of Finances shows that people from Castellón have been especially conservative with their money since the financial crisis. It shows that at the end of the third quarter of 2019, the province’s financial institutions held €3,985 million, compared to the €3,451 of ten years prior. This represents a 12% increase, which more than doubles the national average increase of 5%. In the Valencia region as a whole, deposits have increased by 5.9% since 2009 €6,200 million more. The tough times caused by the crisis and lower amounts of debt have prompted families to hoard more money just in case.
