Duster cuts the mus­tard

A FULLY-equipped new lo­cal po­lice car has been ac­quired by Cal­losa de Se­gura town hall.

Chief of po­lice Juán Sánchez ex­plained it is a Da­cia Duster the same as the last one they ob­tained, and will give of­fi­cers a bet­ter tool to go about their du­ties.

Mayor Fran Maciá com­mented that since tak­ing on new of­fi­cers and new ve­hi­cles, the po­lice can work more ef­fec­tively and res­i­dents will be safer.

The force now has five ve­hi­cles, two of them un­marked, and 41 em­ploy­ees.

Sr Maciá stressed that un­der this coun­cil there are now reg­u­lar meet­ings to co­or­di­nate with the other se­cu­rity forces, there are spe­cific lo­cal po­lice units for ru­ral and en­vi­ron­men­tal cases, for deal­ing with fam­ily mat­ters and for me­di­a­tion, and the VIOGEN pro­to­col is ap­plied in cases of gen­der vi­o­lence in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the Guardia Civil.
