Duster cuts the mustard
A FULLY-equipped new local police car has been acquired by Callosa de Segura town hall.
Chief of police Juán Sánchez explained it is a Dacia Duster the same as the last one they obtained, and will give officers a better tool to go about their duties.
Mayor Fran Maciá commented that since taking on new officers and new vehicles, the police can work more effectively and residents will be safer.
The force now has five vehicles, two of them unmarked, and 41 employees.
Sr Maciá stressed that under this council there are now regular meetings to coordinate with the other security forces, there are specific local police units for rural and environmental cases, for dealing with family matters and for mediation, and the VIOGEN protocol is applied in cases of gender violence in collaboration with the Guardia Civil.
