A GRANT of €104,760 has been awarded to the friends of La Bastida archaeological site (ASBA) in Murcia by the EU's Creative Europe programme.

They are collaborating with Barcelona university in the excavation of the Bronze Age site.

The area in Totana was inhabited 4,000 years ago by the Argaric civilisation, where they built one of the largest Bronze Age cities in Europe.

Creative Europe is the European Commission’s framework programme for support to the culture and audiovisual sectors.

Following on from the previous programme, Creative Europe – with a budget of €1.46 billion – is supporting Europe’s cultural and creative sectors.
