TV series creator confirms contacts to shoot film based on the ITV show
By Irena Bodnarec Derren Litten, writer and creator of the Benidorm series has confirmed that he is in talks about a 'Benidorm movie which will be based on the Benidorm Live stage show production which is currently touring across the UK'.
ITV executives axed the television show after 10 series this year following dwindling ratings, leaving die-hard fans devastated… but many locals relieved.
The Live stage show started in the autumn and will finish an eight-month run in April 2019, with many of the popular characters taking part.
Jake Canuso, who plays Spanish bed-hopping barman Mateo is the only actor to have appeared in every single episode since the show started in 2007 and appears alongside Sherrie Hewson, Tony Maudsley, Janine Duvitski, Adam Gillen and Shelley Longworth.
