Walk this way
Wooden walkways have been installed in Santa Pola natural park, using wood provided by the town hall department for beaches. They will make one of the salt museum’s gardens and the Múrtulas bird observatory more accessible to people with mobility problems, explained councillor for tourism and beaches, Mercedes Landa (pictured).
The botanical gardens feature species of vegetation that are typical of Mediterranean and salt marsh ecosystems. Park workers are also replacing the safety railings and their bases along the jetty on Playa de la Gola, which were damaged by salt water, time and vandalism. The beaches department donated 30 metres of walkways that were damaged and have been recut, sanded down and cleaned. Sra Landa said the town hall is always happy to help the regional government to improve the natural park for residents and tourists to enjoy.
