Valencia takes a dive in Brum
By Dave Jones VALENCIA tourism officials have been to Birmingham to promote diving on the Costa.
They took part in the DIVE show held at the NEC exhibition centre at the weekend.
Regional secretary for tourism Francesc Colomer said: “We wanted to show the British public the biodiversity and undersea landscapes that can be enjoyed in our seas.”
They were also briefing diving professionals and the general public on the activities related to diving that are on offer.
Their stand gave away diving brochures, maps of diving sites and material on the principal diving destinations along the coast of the Valencia region.
These include the marine reserves of Tabarca Island and Cabo de San Antonio on the north Costa Blanca.
Sr Colomer noted that the region boasts more than 50 diving centres and staff were also present at the exhibition to offer more in depth assessments to potential customers. He noted that DIVE is the fifth such exhibition they have attended this year as the regional tourism department seeks to boost the reputation of Valencia’s diving sites and attract quality all-yearround tourism.
