Suspected paedo 'raped daughter from age 10 to 17', court hears
By Samantha Kett A FATHER is facing up to 15 years in jail for repeatedly raping his daughter from the age of 10 to nearly 17 – but claims the girl's mother put her up to it.
The accused, 44, who had apparently separated from the mother when the child was very small, went to the family home every fortnight from 2009 when he knew his ex-wife was away working in Albacete.
When the daughter came home from school, her father would drag her into her bedroom, grope her and often rape her.
Finally, in 2016, the girl – who lives in an undisclosed town in the La Ribera district – broke down and confessed to her mother, saying: “Imagine the worst thing a father can do to his daughter.”
The mother, who – like the father – is originally from Colombia, did not report the child's ordeal at first as she feared reprisals against them both.
But when the father applied for shared custody in 2017, shortly before the victim turned 18, her mother spoke out, not wanting to put the daughter through living with him every other fortnight.
The accused says the daughter was 'difficult and conflictive', becoming ' rebellious and troublesome' because of 'the situation at home', and that she fabricated the accusations influenced by her mum.
He says he and the girl had a row shortly before her claims because he saw a photograph of her ' naked with a load of Colombian soldiers' and threatened to tell her mother, and that the daughter made the reports as an act of revenge.
Mother and daughter say they are not seeking compensation, 'only justice'.
