A look at some of the musical celebrations taking place in the coming 12 months
By Barry Wright NOW that we are into the new year and with Three Kings night just one sleep away it’s time to have a look at some of the festivals that are taking place in Spain in the coming 12 months.
This is with a view to asking Balthasar, Melchior and Gaspar for tickets as a present.
The first of these is the fifth Fuzzville garage rock and punk festival at the Magic Robin Hood Resort in Benidorm on March 22-24.
The event is being headlined by the mythical Atlanta punks Carbonas, who will be ably backed by fellow Atlantans, Barreracudas, The Queers and many more.

Next up is Primavera Sound which takes place at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona from May 30-June 1.
This eclectic festival annually attracts some of the biggest music makers on the scene, plus, more importantly, some of the new movers and shakers and cult acts that it is difficult to find performing elsewhere.
This year’s event is also ground-breaking as the line-up is equally split between male and female artists.

Next up we have the Download Festival, an event that annually gets lovers of anything heavy chomping at the bit.
The event takes place at La Caja Mágica in Madrid on June 28-30 and is being headlined by Scorpions, Slipknot and Tool.
