Xátiva will be the place to be this weekend as the Three Kings parade coincides with the first medieval market of the year in the region.
Xàtiva's bustling this weekend with the Three Kings and the first medieval market of 2019 – from today (Friday) to Sunday inclusive, the La Costera district capital will be packed with craft stalls and period entertainment. Set in an era about 1,000 years after Balthazar, Melchior and Casper brought their ominous gifts to the Baby Jesus, but combining the two in the same three days, the Mediaeval fête includes parades, birds of prey exhibitions, children’s activities and art workshops, as well as a tavern, Arab tea tent and dozens of stands selling handmade home decorations and accessories. Pottery, leatherwork, glass, woodwork, jewellery and plenty more will be on sale, and you can watch it all being made before you buy. The fayre will be spread out from the market square along the C/ Pi, C/ Noguera and C/ Calderería from 11.00 to 22.00, although some will close for lunch.
