Summary

In certain situations clinics are obliged to use subgingival margins especially in the esthetic zone. However, when the finish is a vertical finish line, their application can present the risk of periodontal tissue trauma. The clinical case presented in this study highlights the advantages and disadvantages related to the preparation of vertical margins in a subgingival position.
