DUJO: Traditional and Contemporary Furniture in Cuba

GIVEN THE QUALITY OF ITS DESIGNS AND ITEMS, THE CUBAN FURNITURE INDUSTRY COMPANY LEADS THE PACK IN THE SECTOR

-

DUJO, Cuba's Furniture Industry Company, with over 50 years of acclaim thanks to the quality of its designs and productions, is getting a tighter grip of the Cuban market as the leading company in the sector, providing tourist facilities, educational centers and stores from the country's retail network, with a large assortment of state-of-the-art furniture.

Given the meaning of DUJO –a seat made of precious wood featuring a highly sleek design and structural composition that was used by caciques and major members of the Taino society as token of hierarchy, endurance and history- this entrepreneurial organization decided to use this name as a trademark back in 1967, following the foundation of the Empresa de Muebles y Envases and having a registry entry in the Cuban Office of Patents and Inventions in the year 1988.

For five decades, DUJO has amassed high technological potentials in the processing of hardwood, wooden planks and metal furniture. Today, the company is going through an investment process that embraces the industrial processes of its business units scattered all across the country, marked by the streamlining of the equipment, which includes the use of environment-friendly technologies, new painting cabins and centralized systems to remove sawdust and wood shavings.

With a strong technical-productive infrastructure in its hands and renowned experience under its workforce' belt –designers, cabinetmakers, technicians and other employeesDUJO builds and sell upholstered and non-upholstered furniture made of wood, metal or planks, either classic, colonial or modern, as well as accessories for smokers, mirrors and decorated glass. All of its furniture designs are characterized by the exclusiveness of its products, decorative elements and interiors, coupled with superb mounting and post-sale ready to please the most demanding customers.
