WATER: THE COMMON DISCOURSE THAT BINDS US
THE CALL FOR THE “CUBAGUA 2019” INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION, TO BE HELD IN MARCH IN HAVANA, HAS ALREADY BEEN LAUNCHED
“Water is the common discourse that binds us.” Those were the remarks that opened the official presentation of the “Cubagua 2019” International Convention in its third edition. Eng. Abel Salas, head of the event's organizing committee, said the event –slated for Havana on March 19-22 next year- will gather researchers, producers and businesspeople linked to water management, care and protection.
Cuba's Instituto Nacional de Recursos Hidraúlicos and Unión Nacional de Arquitectos e Ingenieros de la Construcción de Cuba thought out a platform for the research and entrepreneurial sectors to stand on equal footing. With this goal in mind, five events have been grouped in a bid to provide a more comprehensive vision from a scientific, commercial and environmental standpoint.
The Third Technical-Commercial Symposium and the Water Product and Technology Exhibition present themselves as places to share views and establish business ties with Cuban importing enterprises and participating companies from other countries. The International Congress on Hydraulic Engineering is touring the entire country prior to the event in order to collect the best experiences in the field. This will guarantee that only the best work papers and top researchers will be attending the gathering at the International Conference Center in Havana. The conference halls and rooms for scientific discussions will be the starting blocks to implement projects that target well-defined problems in different world regions. What's more, they will lead technological breakthroughs to tackling specific needs of both customers and nations.
The program also includes the Seminar on Comprehensive Water Use and the second edition of the Workshop on the Management of Hydrographic Basins, which will round out the universe of a convention whose common denominator is the fostering of a culture on rational water consumption.
AN ENDLESS PASSION
Those attending Cubagua 2019 should know that delegates from 34 countries attended the two previous editions, with a turnout of 62 companies.
In addition, the event is also an international recognition to everything Cuba has done in terms of protecting its natural resources. Since 2012, the island nation has been implementing an investment program aimed at renewing the existing technology. It's important to say that Cuban experts are currently pitching a helping hand in handling drought in several African and Caribbean countries.
Environment-friendly people warn about a cabbala in the scheduled program. The third edition will take place in the same month when spring breaks and will come to a close on March 22, marked as the World Water Day.
