THE HOTEL CHAIN IS TURNING 25 YEARS ON A WISH TO UPGRADE THE CATEGORY OF MANY OF ITS FACILITIES

The year 2019 is teeming with commercial challenges and major improvements for Islazul as the hotel chain is keen on raising the category of many of its facilities with a view to dealing with new challenges related to foreign investment.

Islazul has 117 properties broken down in hotels, motels, hostels, villas and aparthotels, plus 887 houses in four key destinations: La Habana del Este, Varadero, Cayos Coco and Guillermo, and Santa Lucía beach, in Camagüey.

The hotel company, present in the island nation's heritage cities, as well as in sun-andbeach destinations, boasts hotels of two, three

and four stars, featuring both medium and small capacity, and ranging from 40 to 300 rooms each. It currently has 9,073 rooms, coupled with new builds that already provide services in the provincial capitals of the country.

With the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of Havana, the grand opening of Vedado Azul, a small hotel of great comfort that joins the recently opened San Juan, in Matanzas, Floreale, in Villa Clara, and El Deportivo in Santiago de Cuba, took place

Run under a joint management contract with Spanish hotel chain Meliá, Islazul is open to foreign investment. In the nature tourism niche, it has joined the Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos de Cuba in an effort to provide accommodations near medicinal water rehabilitation centers and in a bid to develop joint projects in favor of health tourism.
