GREAT STIRRUP CAY

La primera compañía de cruceros en esta experiencia fue Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), cuando en 1977 compró Great Stirrup Cay, una pequeña isla que forma parte de las Islas Berry en las Bahamas, desarrollando un destino privado para sus pasajeros. La parte norte de la isla posee una playa de arenas blancas rodeada de rocas que provee una atractiva zona de buceo. Entre las instalaciones más destacadas está el tobogán inflable a 12 m de altura, así como la práctica del buceo para observar el «jardín de esculturas sumergidas» o explorar un barco hundido; nadar con rayas y mantas o rentar las exclusivas cabañas. Posee además varias instalaciones gastronómicas, distribuidas en seis playas donde se pueden practicar muchos deportes acuáticos; zonas de juegos infantiles y un mercado.
