THE CUBAN COMPANY FRUTAS SELECTAS HAS A LONSTANDING HISTORY, ALWAYS RELATED TO TOURISM

Cuban company Frutas Selectas boasts a longstanding history of life. With more than 40 years of history, always facing tourism, it does not cease in the search of how to improve and diversify its offer, and it is with this well defined objective that they are presented in fairs and events inside and outside Cuba.

"As exhibitors, we have traveled through important national fairs, and since we were given the power to export, there are eight international events in which we have been present among fairs, exhibitions and business committees. Each one of them has been an important training", says the company's general manager, Juan Carlos Rodríguez Portuondo.

Being the only company from the Ministry of Agriculture in the country authorized to supply cruise ships, half cruises, mega yachts and commercial vessels, Frutas Selectas is also working very hard on import substitution, and in this sense, he tells us which product he will bring as a novelty to the next edition of the International Tourism Fair, FITCuba 2020.

There, the company will be promoting a product that "we have been working on for two years: the Macedonian fruit, up until now only imported by ITH for tourism and which we are developing in our own miniindustry", explains Rodríguez Portuondo.

The numbers speak for themselves of the success of this company in terms of growth. In the last ten years, sales to tourism have grown steadily between one million and 1.5 million CUC on average per year. "As for exports, we plan to grow this year 2020 by 35% compared to the previous year, a growth that will be closely linked, as it has been up to now, to progress in quality in all senses, but above all in the quality of our marketing, which is the strategic objective of the organization".
