FOOD & BEVERAGE
A culinary oasis on Madrid’s Golden Mile
The Meliá Serrano hotel’s new restaurant Arado, in Madrid.
As stylish and chic as the neighbourhood around it, the new Arado Grocery & Restaurant has already become a gathering place in the area near Calle Serrano, right in the heart of the Salamanca district.
It’s based on gourmet products and the best raw materials in Spain, with a cocktail bar and indoor terrace that lend the restaurant a relaxed ambience. The ‘all-day dining’ concept lets you eat at any time, with dishes ranging from a traditional Spanish stew to a burger made with meat sourced from the nearby Guadarrama mountains.
Featuring local DO ingredients, the menu pays homage to traditional cooking, with soups and stews from all over Spain served daily. Traditional recipes are brought up to date by chef David Masllorens, a seasoned veteran of the kitchens of prestigious restaurants like
Arzak. His experience allows him to experiment with powerful flavours, playing with textures and tastes and elevating the concept of a traditional bistro.
The sophisticated, modern and comfortable space epitomises the luxurious lifestyle of the surrounding area.
It’s the perfect place for a pit stop after a day of boutique shopping on Serrano, a business meeting, a long post-meal conversation (a typical Spanish pastime) or a relaxing drink after work. The gorgeous bar also hosts an exciting line-up of events, inspired by the best international venues where legendary leisure, entertainment and cuisine coexist under one roof. It’s Serrano’s answer to Park Avenue (NYC), right here in Madrid.
