THE TWELFTH MELIÁ HOTELS INTERNATIONAL GOLF CIRCUIT
This year will be another special year for Meliá Hotels International, with the celebration of the 12th edition of its annual golf tournament. It’s a single-player invite-only event for the company’s most outstanding contacts and customers, following the Stableford scoring system.
Taking a look at this year ’s calendar, the opening competition in Andalusia stands out. It kicks off in May at a truly luxurious location—the Real Club Sevilla Golf—that has already played host to great tournaments and circuits in the past, and has always been synonymous with success in the eyes of Meliá and its sponsors.
After the initial event, the circuit will move to the Basque Laukariz Country Club, then to Madrid’s Golf Santander club in June. It snowed during last year ’s competition at this exceptional location, but this year it will be enjoyed in all the splendour of early summer.
One essential part of the 2018 circuit is the Real Club de Golf de La Coruña, the ‘Zapateira’. During the competition here in July, guests will experience a magnificent atmosphere of golf and exceptional service, as is the norm at this historic club.
At the end of the summer, the circuit returns with the fifth test at the idyllic Buenavista Golf course, which is well known for hosting the final last year. It’s located steps away from the Meliá Hacienda del Conde hotel, with views of the azure Atlantic waters.
This hugely enjoyable and highly competitive course was designed by Severiano Ballesteros.
The circuit moves to Mallorca in October for a special contest at Son Muntaner, which features spectacular greens. Once again, the finalists will be announced here for the final in the Levante region.
The grand finale of this edition will be held in November at the Meliá Villaitana Golf Club on Alicante’s Costa Blanca. Several days later, the Staysure Tour (European Senior Tour) will take place at the same club, with Miguel Ángel Jiménez, ‘El Pisha’, serving as ambassador. After the final competition of the twelfth Meliá Golf Circuit, the highest ranked players in the league, and therefore the winners, will be announced.
They will then accompany the 52 highest ranked senior players in the days leading up to the 2018 Costa Blanca Benidorm Senior Masters Pro-Am competition .
