The Melia White House is a Lon­don clas­sic. En­joy all it has to of­fer.

Just a stone’s throw away from Re­gent’s Park in Maryle­bone and the leg­endary home of Sher­lock Holmes (221B Baker Street) stands the Ho­tel Meliá White House. Lo­cated in a listed build­ing from 1932, it’s a sec­ond home for trav­ellers who reg­u­larly visit Lon­don, and is also one of the com­pany’s Euro­pean flag­ships.

The Meliá White House is known for its con­tin­u­ous in­no­va­tion, and this year it’s re­veal­ing ex­cit­ing up­dates to The Level: a pro­gramme that truly goes the ex­tra mile in per­son­alised cus­tomer ser­vice, both in pre­mium rooms and in com­mon ar­eas with ex­clu­sive ac­cess.

The ex­pe­ri­ence be­gins with a pri­vate check-in and con­tin­ues through­out the guest’s stay in Lon­don, meet­ing their ev­ery need: from se­cur­ing a reser­va­tion in a restau­rant that’s been fully booked for weeks, to cre­at­ing a cul­tural itin­er­ary that per­fectly suits guests’ in­ter­ests—all car­ried out by the mem­bers of the Guest Ex­pe­ri­ence team. ‘Guests can think of our LEVEL ser­vice as a per­son­alised so­lu­tion provider, through which our Guest Ex­pe­ri­ence de­part­ment can at­tend to their ev­ery need, from pri­vate trans­fers and shop­ping ex­pe­ri­ences to ar­range­ments for travel or spe­cial events’, ex­plains Gioele Ca­mar­linghi, Gen­eral Man­ager of the Meliá White House ho­tel.

The pro­gramme in­cludes other ameni­ties, such as 24hour room ser­vice, a busi­ness cen­tre with sec­re­tar­ial ser­vices, 24-hour laun­dry and dry clean­ing ser­vices (with next day de­liv­ery) and the pack­ing and un­pack­ing of lug­gage. Not to men­tion the best rooms in the ho­tel, from Ex­ec­u­tive rooms to Suites (Ju­nior, Mas­ter and Pres­i­den­tial).

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

The Level area—which is ac­ces­si­ble to all guests within this cat­e­gory—was re­cently re­mod­elled, and now boasts a mod­ern and so­phis­ti­cated look. Whether their stay is for busi­ness or plea­sure, guests feel truly at home with the best ser­vice, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. In the mul­ti­pur­pose room there are com­mu­nal ta­bles for work and spa­ces de­signed for small pri­vate meet­ings. There’s also time for leisure, thanks to ex­ten­sive culi­nary of­fer­ings and an ex­clu­sive ac­tiv­i­ties pro­gramme.

The culi­nary choices on of­fer change ac­cord­ing to the hour. A break­fast buf­fet starts off the morn­ing, while tea, cof­fee and in­ter­na­tional snacks are served through­out the day. ‘Each evening, Ex­ec­u­tive Chef Achille Travaglini and his team create an ar­ray of ex­cit­ing in­ter­na­tional hot and cold ap­pe­tis­ers. Ev­ery week The Level has a col­lec­tion of gas­tro­nomic de­lights for guests to dis­cover. Should they wish to sam­ple some­thing heartier, dishes from the chef ’s sig­na­ture menu are avail­able for an ad­di­tional cost. Guests can also ex­plore The Place Restau­rant; this ca­sual din­ing space serves fresh, sea­sonal Mediter­ranean cui­sine, and is the per­fect spot for en­joy­ing a re­lax­ing drink and some fan­tas­tic food’. But that’s not all: ‘If you’re look­ing for some­thing a lit­tle more Bri­tish’, adds Ca­mar­linghi, ‘be sure to visit Dry Mar­tini Lon­don, where clas­sic dishes are paired with ex­tra­or­di­nary cock­tails from our mixol­o­gists, who can bring to life any­thing you de­sire’.

For those who want to watch their health while away from home, or who have an in­tol­er­ance or al­lergy, there are spe­cific health pro­grammes avail­able upon re­quest. These guests may ben­e­fit from the Bal­ance by Meliá pro­gramme, which not only serves fresh, sea­sonal prod­ucts, but also in­cludes fit­ness classes, as well as ed­u­ca­tional work­shops that ad­vise on nu­tri­tion and sleep.

The Level of­fers ad­di­tional ser­vices for guests trav­el­ling with their fam­i­lies. ‘ For those trav­el­ling with chil­dren, our Kids & Co pro­gramme makes kids the star of the show. The var­i­ous spa­ces create a sense of tran­quil­lity and pro­vide the per­fect lo­ca­tion for a fam­ily to re­lax to­gether ’, ex­plains Ca­mar­linghi. Among its ameni­ties are a pri­vate check-in area, spe­cial rooms with fa­cil­i­ties and ser­vices for the whole fam­ily and an en­ter­tain­ment pro­gramme that’s suit­able for all ages. ‘Our Kids & Co club is ideal for par­ents seek­ing some rest and re­lax­ation. Leave your child at the ded­i­cated area, and a staff mem­ber will keep them en­ter­tained with games, draw­ing and arts & craft work­shops. Par­ents can then re­lax in The Level Lounge or the Dry Mar­tini cock­tail bar ’.

LIFT UP YOUR SPIRIT WITH ART

Art lovers will en­joy the Le Dame Art Gallery, a per­ma­nent ho­tel ex­hi­bi­tion fea­tur­ing an in­spir­ing col­lec­tion of con­tem­po­rary art from emerg­ing artists. The col­lec­tion is ex­hib­ited in the lobby and The Level Lounge, and has been a top spot in the neigh­bour­hood for sev­eral years.

‘The Dame Art Gallery has grown sig­nif­i­cantly over the last five years’, ex­plains Ca­mar­linghi. ‘It first started as a means of so­cial re­spon­si­bil­ity, and is part of Meliá’s goal of of­fer­ing a pro­gramme of cul­tural events, work­ing on com­mu­nity projects and en­hanc­ing the guest ex­pe­ri­ence’.

Re­cently, the art­work has ex­panded into other ar­eas of the ho­tel. ‘The col­lec­tion now oc­cu­pies many pub­lic ar­eas and meet­ing room spa­ces, plus a gallery space in one of the meet­ing break-out ar­eas’. The ex­hi­bi­tion sched­ule changes reg­u­larly and is open to ev­ery­one, whether they ’re a ho­tel guest or not.

To­gether with Le Dame Art Gallery, the Meliá White House also plays host to ART­ROOMS, an in­ter­na­tional art fair that’s now in its fifth year. ‘ART­ROOMS is an in­ter­ac­tive show­case of to­day ’s most thought­pro­vok­ing, mind-bend­ing and awe-in­spir­ing artists. It is the first art fair to of­fer free ex­hi­bi­tion space to in­de­pen­dent artists. Each artist takes over a bed­room, which be­comes their own space to de­velop for the du­ra­tion of the event. The fair at­tracts ex­hibitors and guests from around the world, and cre­ates a plat­form to cel­e­brate dif­fer­ences through art’.
