ESCAPE ROOM
Guests can now enjoy challenging escape rooms at the Innside Hamburg, Manchester and Palma hotels.
Innside by Meliá has teamed up with Spanish escape room specialists Mission Escape to launch Innside City Mysteries. These exclusive and exciting escape room games were launched this summer across properties in key cities such as Manchester, Hamburg and Palma.
Innside is a global leader in the ‘bleisure’ sector, catering to both business and leisure travellers. This unique cross-section of traveller has been identified as the ‘worktripper ’: the hotel guest who wants to fully experience the cities they visit, whether for business or for pleasure. This blurring of boundaries between work and play inspired the Innside Escape Rooms, designed to entertain guests, yet versatile enough to be used as team building exercises for work colleagues.
The Innside City Mysteries are unique to each city and inspired by the local culture and history. This gives players the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their new surroundings, even whilst working. The educational format ensures that the game experience is both enter- taining and rewarding, providing travellers and locals alike with a stimulating way of engaging with the city.
These games are particularly effective team building activities, as business colleagues must come together as a group to achieve a goal. Each member must understand their individual role within the team, appreciating each other ’s strengths as well as their own. By adopting a collective problem-solving mindset and organising themselves effectively, the teams develop and improve
their interpersonal relationships as they work together to complete challenges.
Innside Manchester ’s ‘Relic Hunt’ game draws on one of the largest collections of papyrus ever found in Egypt, which is held within the iconic John Ryland’s library in the city centre. Innside Hamburg Hafen’s game, ‘Mummy Mystery’, revolves around mummies held in the Anthropological Museum of Hamburg. In each game, players are tasked with uncovering the mystery of disappearing artifacts, solving puzzles and com- pleting challenges within an Innside hotel room before time runs out. For those who successfully complete the challenge, prizes include cocktails, beer and wine, as well as a 20% discount on food and free parking.
Sofia Muntaner, Global Brand Marketing Executive, said, ‘We are excited to launch Meliá Hotels International Innside City Mystery Escape Rooms for the public. Our business guests will enjoy these fun and engaging activities, and leisure guests and residents can experience an exciting day out with their friends’.
THE INNSIDE CITY MYSTERIES ARE UNIQUE TO EACH CITY AND INSPIRED BY THE LOCAL CULTURE AND HISTORY.
