Present state of governance unstable—vikramabahu

- HOT SEAT BY DIANNE SILVA

This is the type of educated person that we should give recognition to instead of the thugs that we worship now!

A refreshing and accurate insight into Ranil and what he is trying to do.

DON QUIXOTE

He is an honest politician, scientist and thinker. I like him very much.

POORNIMA

I first met you in 1968 at the Peradeniya campus, and I am proud you have not changed your policies; be firm, one day it will yield benefits to your countrymen. Don’t be worried you did not get an oppertunity to show your abilities. Like you there are many today. The political field is open for uneducated and educated rogues, plus oppertunists but do not give up. Wish you a very successful future.

FAROOK

What we need in Sri Lanka today are people like Dr. Karunaratne to guide us in the right direction. I do agree Dr. Karunaratne has not got charm to cheat people; that is why he hasn't won the election.

MINNAL

What policies? If you listen to his speech in London (Maveer day), you will realize that he changes his tune according to the audience.

The security forces were addressed as the Sinhala Army to entertain pro LTTE elements. Then the so called Sinhala Army was highly criticised. He never mentioned any of the crimes committed by the LTTE. If he is someone with polices why not criticise both?

What a shameless fellow. There is no difference between him and a person taking money from the LTTE and planting a bomb among civilians.

ROY S.

A message for Ranil. Develop a sound policy for the party, I knew Vikramabahu and some of his academic associates in politics since 1970. They are standing for the same values until now. They are not opportunists.

RAJ

This is a great interview to me. I attended the last May Day meeting held by the Socialist Equality Party at the Mahaweli Centre. Mr. Wije Dias, General Secretary of that party said, "Now the NSSP leader Vikramabahu is looking for an 'Ambalama' to have a temporary perch on." I feel Wije Dias is a visionary. Vikramabahu has now found the UNP ‘ambalama’. Some people are leaving that ‘ambalama’ and Vikramabahu is entering. What a fantastic world of politics in my country of birth!
