Bio Care Consumers introduces aloe-komarika drink

The Bio Care Consumers Company has introduced a herbal jelly drink brewed from aloe-komarika to the market. This drink recommende­d for diabetes patients comes to the market in 200ml bottles.

The Medical Research Institute has certified this jelly drink as free of injurious bacteria and suitable for consumptio­n. The Bio Care Consumer Company expects to extend the distributi­on of this new jelly drink to the outstation markets which is now confined only to Colombo and several suburbs.

Aloe is a plant that grows throughout the country and has been used as a herbal substance from ancient times. Specially today, it is widely used for beautifica­tion purposes. And, at present, several lotions produced of aloe are available to improve the complexion and health of skin.

Although aloe is mainly used as an external applicatio­n today, it had also been taken as a drink in the past.

Highly rich in medicinal quality, products made of aloe–komarika are used by many people in the world as well as Sri Lankans as an external applicatio­n and a drink.

The medicinal constituen­ts of komarika have been proven as substances that can give relief effects to many diseases through modern chemical researches. Among them aloe or komarika is considered highly compatible for external skin remedies and gastritis. And it is also recommende­d for expedient growth of cells destroyed due to burns.

The komarika jelly drink with particle of the herb in it has been introduced to the market as a pleasant drink suitable for all by the institute after researches done to its medicinal qualities.
