MANGO TREE AND JACK TREE TAKE ROOT AT ODEL

Hardcore Mango Tree and Jack Tree loyalists are plenty in Colombo. Many of whom just can’t do without a routine visit to either one of the restaurants, tempted by the delicious food, comforting ambience, and welcoming service. For those who find it difficult to steal away for long drawn out lunches or dinners, how about a quick compromise that gives you a mash up of Indian and Thai delicacies in a convenient location, making satisfying indulgence one step closer to you.

The Mango Tree and Jack Tree outlet at Odel which is just about four months old is going strong thanks to the reputation both restaurants have maintained with loyal fans. The Odel outlet, which offers the flexibility of eating while you’re shopping or vice versa, has drawn curious shoppers and foodies, yearning to tryout a menu that promises good food at a great price. This outlet features a range of chaat dishes, a typical Indian specialty that is an ideal mid day snack to keep you pumped up all afternoon long. The Dahi Batata Puri is one such variety, that comes in a portion of six accompanied by two different sauces. Yet another spicy pick is the Frankie that comes in vegetable, chicken or mutton variants. The Frankie, a Mumbai based delicacy is a deliciously spiced up wrap, with the crowning glory being the Frankie masala. This special masala gives the wrap, its uniquely zesty taste. The pandan chicken, this time a Thai specialty is quite a good pick too, if you want to sink your teeth into succulent chicken with a touch of light soy sauce, bringing out is rich flavour. Other highlights include, Aloo Bonda, Chicken Tikka, Chicken black pepper, Paneer Tikka, Fish cake, Tom Yam soup and dessert options such as cheesecake and brownie. The outlet also serves limited packets of biriyani for lunch too.
