Tamil Union were home for lunch as they needed just 17.3 overs in the morning session of play on the final day yesterday to record a comfor table innings and 70 r un over Badureliya CC in their Premier Tier ‘A’ cricket encounter played at the P. Sara Stadium.

Badureliya with four of their top batsmen back in the pavilion with the score on 53 and needing a fur ther 150 r uns to avoid an innings defeat continued to falter losing the remaining six wickets for the addition of 80 r uns.

An unbroken 157 r un stand for the fif th wicket between Kaushal Lokuarachc­hi and Thilan Samaraweer­a helped SSC to record a seven wicket win over Lankan CC at the SSC grounds yesterday.

Earlier in the day Lankan CC resuming from their overnight score of 202 for 2 went on a make a challengin­g 340 for 6 declared which came on the back of unbeaten 113 by opener Ashen Silva.

SSC chasing 260 r uns for victor y needed just 48 overs to reach the target thanks to a knock of 108 in 100 balls inclusive of 11 boundaries and two sixes by Kaushal Lokuarachc­hi and a solid 69 by Samaraweer­a.

Colts had to be satisfied with a first innings

win over NCC in their match concluded at the Colts ground yesterday. The highlight of the third day’s play was a knock of 78 by Angelo Perera which was his second half ton of the match which saved NCC from an imminent defeat.
