SIRIWASALA UNSPOOLS ON WEEKENDS

-

Priyantha Samarakoon's ‘Siriwasala' tele drama featuring Dinidu Jagoda, Ruwanthi Mangala, Chithra Warakagoda, Amila Nadeeshani, Manjula Moragaha, Udayanthi Kulathunga, Damayanthi Fonseka, Tharushi Perera and others will be telecast on Sirasa TV on Saturdays and Sundays at 8.30 pm.

‘Siriwasala' is a ‘Walauwa' with traditional glory and a great history.

The story begins with its owner ‘Kumarihami', a proud lady, who gets married to ‘Gajanayake' of a respectable family in the area. Gajanayake who is actively involved in social work, eventually becomes a popular politician.

Although the marriage of ‘Gajanayake' and ‘Kumarihami' was a good match in-terms of social status, the distance between them widened as days passed by. ‘Gajanayake' naturally attracted many women and had extra-marital affairs.

Their daughter Devindi was more like the father. The beautiful young girl showed much interest in social work and moved closely with the people. She was more attached to the father than the mother.

‘Kumarihami' is worried about the rumours and the habits of her husband. In an attempt to restrict his drinking habit she uses some medication which accidentally kills him.

This creates more problems to both the mother and daughter and also affects the fame and reputation of ‘Siriwasala'.
