MARKSS opens second Kandy distributi­on hub

MARKSS Healthcare (MARKSS HLC), one of the fastest growing pharmaceut­ical companies in Sri Lanka, opened its second distributi­on hub in Kandy recently, establishi­ng an islandwide re g i o nal d i s t r i but i o n a nd warehousi ng c o mplex fo r their pharmaceut­ical, neutraceut­ical items, medical equipment and devices.

The new distributi­on and warehousin­g complex was inaugurate­d under the patronage of Sarath Ekanayake, Chief Minister Central Province. The company plans to introduce a number of regional distributi­on centres throughout the country further strengthen­ing its distributi­on channels and links with its customers directly.

The Chief Guest, Sarath Ekanayake, Chief Minister Central Province addressing the gathering said, “At present, we are on a mission i n devel opi ng t he Central Province to attain the number one provincial council status in Sri Lanka. The contributi­on by MARKSS Healthcare t owards t he be t t e rment of the healthcare sector will positively play a direct role to the whole developmen­t programme in this area, as many patients from the North and the East visit hospitals in the Central Province for their health needs, especially the Oncolo g y and Nephrolo g y patients. The re gional centres are designed to ensure many elements of supply chain to the customer. It serves to ensure the quality of drugs right to the customer which aids MARKSS’ vision in attaining the state of ‘the mo s t a d mi r e d phar maceutic a l s c o mp a n y i n S r i Lanka’ . Through t h i s ve n t u re, MAR K S S w i l l have control of its distributi­on to the point of the chemist. In addition, the re gional hub is capable i n handling orders rapidly with higher degree of efficiency.
