TRINITY EASE TO EIGHTH OUTRIGHT WIN

Trinity coasted to their eighth outright win for the season when they defeated Kalutara MV by an innings and 112 runs in the Under 19 cricket encounter concluded at the Kalutara Esplanade yesterday.

Spinner Janishka Premasingh­e was their hero on the second day as he followed up his seven wicket haul with another five to bundle out Kalutara MV, resuming from their over night score of 19 for no loss, to a score of 159.

Janishka ended the match with a match bag of 12 for 92.

A ton by Ishan Rangana and a five wicket haul by Kusal Dias helped Nalanda record a comfortabl­e innings and 66 runs win over Thurstan in their Under 19 encounter concluded at Panagoda yesterday.

Nalanda resuming on their over night score of 214 for 4 went on to make 289 in reply to Thurstan’s 105. Thurstan batting the second time with a deficit of 194 runs was able to muster only 128.
