Seylan Bank rewards ‘Thagi Pita Thagi’ winners

The first batch of ten lucky winners of the main prizes in Seylan Bank’s mega ‘Seylan Thagi Pita Thagi’ r e w a r d s s c h e me r e c e n t - l y r e c e ive d t h e i r awa r d s f ro m Cha i r man Ea s t man N a r a n g o d a , E xe c u t ive Director R. Nadarajah and General Manager/ceo Kapila Ariyaratne at the bank’s Head Office in Kollupitiy­a.

Hailing from dif ferent parts of Sri Lanka, they were Nilantha Deshapriya, M.A.M. Perera, M.H.M. Hafas, H.K.G Ru p a s i n g h e, P r a s a n t h a Abeykoon, S.A.N. Malkanthi, Dr. Anusha Wickramara­chchi, Nilang a Fer nando, U.A.H. Kumara and M.J.M. Rozmi.

Winner of the Rs.1 mill i o n c a s h p r i z e Ni l a n t h a Deshapriya was thrilled with his win. A devout Buddhist, he believes that his contributi­on towards the renovation of the temple in his aunt’s village in Kahatagasd­igiliya brought him luck. “Yes I am very happy. I have no plans to spend this money right now and so the entire Rs.1 million has gone into an FD at the Seylan Bank Mt. Lavinia branch where I have my account.”

Although M.A.M. Perera won the 125cc motor bike, it will mostly be used by her lucky husband Donald and their grandson Rashan. “Our entire family has been banking with Seylan. We have great confidence in the bank and stayed with Seylan even during the tough times. I must place on record my appreciati­on of the staf f of the Gampaha branch for their excellent service at all times,” she said.

To H.K.G Rupasinghe of Dehiattaka­ndiya, winning the fridge was a pleasant surprise. “My wife Malani Mangalika is the lucky one since this will be very useful in the house.” Proprietor of ‘Gamage Stores and Hardware’, Rupesinghe has both a current and savings account with Seylan which are more than 12 years old.

Winning the laptop was Dr. Anusha Wickramara­chchi, Chairperso­n of the Gampaha Wickramara­chchi Oushada Co Pvt Ltd. Our relationsh­ip with Seylan Bank goes back nearly 20 years. We have accounts at Seylan’s G a m p a h a , Ya k k a l a a n d Kadawatha branches and h ave e ve n g o t loans for expanding the business. I’m really happy with Seylan’s service and operations. Winning the laptop was a surprise indeed,” she said.

Among the other winners were Prasantha Abeykoon of the Millenium Branch who won a Home Entertainm­ent System, U.A.H Kumara of the Avissawell­a Branch who won a four-burner gas cooker and M.J.M. Rozmi of the Matale Branch who won a gold sovereign.

‘Seylan Thagi Pita Thagi’ is a one-of-a-kind rewards scheme which offers a total of 2630 prizes a month including the ten top monthly winners and 20 monthly winners per branch.
