A SACRIFICE FOR THE ONE YOU LOVE

-

Oh! I wish I could tell Chloe everything. That I love Austen and I wish that he would love me in return instead of Chloe she thought, controlling her tears from flowing. No! No, I can’t do this! I can’t be so selfish. Chloe loves him. For heaven’s sake! Stop yourself! Stop this feeling in you! You have to sacrifice him for your sister. Just leave them alone. Chloe loves Austen. Just leave them. That’s the best thing you can do instead of sitting and crying. It’s better this way than telling Chloe and Austen. It will just make the situation worse.

“Hey, Isabelle! Isabelle!” said Chloe, looking worried. Suddenly Isabelle came out of her thoughts and said, “Yes? Err… What just happened to me?” she asked, looking worried herself.

“Well, according to me, you were just day dreaming and only God knows what the hell you ‘day dream’ about all the time. And if it’s your beloved books that you are day dreaming about this much, which is not even real, don’t tell me about it” Chloe said breathlessly, nervously and without even waiting for Isabelle’s answer.

“Ok, Ok! Said Isabelle laughing, Come on! Don’t get so mad at me just for day

dreaming. You talk as if you never day dream about Austen” she said, with a lump the size of a golf ball in her throat and a tingle as she pronounced his name. She tried to sound happy albeit her eyes stung with unshed tears-tears of pain, love and the sacrifice that she was making for the ones she loved.

“Hi Cara, Austen! said Chloe. Sorry for getting late”. She felt butterflies as she saw him. “Hi”, said Austen and Cara in unison, looked at each other and smiled. Cara walked up to the girls and introduced them to her brother. “Brother, said she, meet the two most special people of my life. My two best friends! This is Chloe, she pointed to the one on her left-wearing the black dress, and this is Isabelle, she pointed at the one standing on her right-wearing the royal blue skirt with the off-white blouse. And this, she pointed towards the young man standing in front of the girls, is my beloved brother Austen” “Hi!” said Chloe and Isabelle. “It’s nice to meet you after all the things that I have heard from my sister”

It was about 10 in the night and all the four of them were watching the horror movie ROSE RED. The lights were switched off, the sofa they were sitting on was in the middle of the living room, a 29” plasma T.V. was the wall that was facing the sofa and there was a coaster in front of the sofa filled with snacks. Mr. and Mrs. Black were in their room sleeping. Chloe was sitting in the corner on the left, then sat Isabelle, Austen and Cara. Isabelle was in a way happy because she was able to sit beside him. Chloe didn’t mind about anything at all. She was just having a splendid time as she always did.
