“O h d e a r, I h ave a b a d t o o t h a c h e. I hope it does not mean another extraction. I lost one tooth last year. I started eating from the left side after that but now it’s the left side that hurts,”complained Adela.

She went to the dentist who asked her to take an X-ray of the tooth.“this will come as a shock to you but you will have to lose this tooth too. It is fractured right down the middle,”said the dentist, after studying the X-ray X-ray.“isn’t “Isn’t there anything else that can be done, other than an extraction?”asked Adela.“well, with my limited knowledge, there is nothing else that I can suggest,”said the dentist humbly.“i’ll think about it.”said Adela.

“Well, he is a very experience­d doctor and I think that I should put myself into his hands. This means that I will only be able to eat soft foods and items that are cut up small as I won’t have much biting capacity. Never mind. I am sixty now and I had several years of good eating so I shouldn’t complain,”reflected Adela.

After all, who has not met with challeng es in life? P hy s i c a l p a i n i s o n l y o n e a s p e c t . Emotional trauma lasts longer than o r d i n a r y p a i n . At l e a s t when t h e t o o t h i s r e moved, t h e r e wi l l b e n o m o re p a i n , ” t h o u g h t A d e l a .
