Kansa growers noosed in Vavuniya
In a raid, the Vavuniya Anti Vice Squad took into custody three men found cultivating kansa under the pretext of chena cultivation in Nalikkulam in Vavuniya. Police said the suspects had grown kansa in an area of about four acres in extent and that they had been carrying on the racket for a long time. During the raid police destroyed the kansa plants and seized 750 grams of processed ganja ready for distribution. OIC Anti Vice Squad SI H.m.herath, Sergeant 42620 and Constables 79555 Bandara , 64917, Udagedara, 52158 Attanayaka, 56923 Ranil and 31151 Nandana carried out the raid. The suspects were to be produced in court last morning.
