Minister opens training school for dancing

The new building of the National Youth Services Council’s Training School of Dancing and Sri Lanka Independen­t Workers Associatio­n office were declared open recently by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Developmen­t Dulles Alahapperu­ma.the new building adjoining the Maharagama “Sri Lanka Youth” building complex was built at a cost Rs. 4 million. The new training school would accommodat­e 100 students who would follow a course in dancing.present at this occasion was Piyasara Silphadhip­athi the versatile exponent of rhythms of Sri Lankan drums and folk songs. The ministry secretary S. S. Hewapathir­ana, the chairman of the Na- tional Youth Services council Attorney Lalith Pium Perera, president of Independen­t Workers associatio­n Nalin Samarawick­rama and Secretary Amal Senaka were also present at the occasion.
