Ace comedian and filmmaker Tennyson Cooray left for the UK last week to take part in a series of concerts organised by the Uk-based charity “1+1=1”.

The main aim of the charity is to help orphaned children and vulnerable young adults in Sri Lanka to develop their educational needs by providing volunteer teachers especially for English, Maths and Science.

Currently it works with four orphanages based in Sri Lanka - the Jinananda Boy’s Home Wellawatte, Saint Bethany Home Moratuwa, Jeewani Home Moratuwa, National Training and Counselling Centre (centre for young and vulnerable adults) Moratuwa.

Tennyson Cooray will join a team of other Sri Lankan artistes who will take part in a series of variety shows in several parts in Britain.
