Hsenid Mobile showcases NFC enabled Telco platforms

-

At t he GSMA Mobile World Congress 2012, the industry’s largest and most prestigious event attracting over 50,000 senior executives, hsenid Mobile announced its Near Field Communications (NFC) payment channel integration to its Cloud based Telco platforms that were showcased at the event.

hsenid Mobile’s recent deployments of its mchoice Cloud TAP (Telco Application Platform) in Indonesia, Africa and South Asia have resulted in mobile applications and services redefining mobile lifestyles of subscribers from all levels of the consumer pyramid. With these services connecting to all walks of life such as entertainment, business, travel, shopping, education etc, the entire mobile experience has been enhanced with the capability to pay for goods and services on the mobile phone using a preferred payment instrument such as Mobile Money.

NFC is one of the fastest growing wireless technologies adopted around the world and according to the NFC Forum “NFC makes life easier and more convenient for con- sumers around the world by making it simpler to make transactions, exchange digital content, and connect electronic devices with a touch.”

It is on this basis that hsenid Mobile introduced the capability to make payment transactions via NFC in the form of NFC enabled cards for consumers to “just tap” at an NFC point of sale device for the goods & services they consume.

To use the NFC card, consumers will have to top up their virtual account known as “mchoice Wallets” through agents who may be airtime prepaid retailers, banks, via online or peer to peer transfers. Merchants, who are part of the network to accept NFC enabled cards for payments, will be equipped with NFC mobile phones or devices and will be able to use pre-built business applications on mchoice Cloud TAP to engage their customers in order seamlessly carryout transactions.

hsenid Mobile Founder & CEO, Dinesh Saparamadu says, “We continuously look to improve and mobilize lifestyles of mobile users through our platforms by constantly incorporating new technology and integrating NFC as a payment instrument is another such example. The convenience of just being able to tap a card at the point of purchasing a service increases the speed of transactions and highly suitable in emerging markets with significant under banked populations, promising plenty of potential for Mobile Operators and service providers to raise usage and increase revenue in the services they offer”.
