Russell’s Pvt. Ltd. the renowned tea and catering services has embarked on several changes and improvemen­ts in the last year which included increasing manpower capacity, adding more sophistica­ted equipment to its kitchens as well as re designing of the uniforms of the services staff.

Russell’s which will celebrate its 25th anniversar­y next year target is to be on par with a five star hotel by then, both in standards and remunerati­on or individual categories, Group General Manager Lindsay Fernando said.

Russell’s which commenced operations in 1988 has more than 50 service outlets in public and mercantile sectors within Sri Lanka and these include tea and catering services to most of the major banks, both local and internatio­nal among others.

The staff of Russell’s too has grown to over 200 by now and includes Russell’s’ fashion and design unit. The fashion range includes ladies and gents apparels to staff uniforms with embroidere­d logos with a brand name of “St. Frances.’

Russell’s has also begun producing some value added gift packs of tea which can be purchased from its tea lounge at Elvitigala Mawatha .Russell’s has also began a program for senior citizens between the ages of 60 and 70 who can drop in t the tea Lounge to savor a cholestero­l and enhancer free delicious meal.
