NILAN’S ‘ANOTHER TEMPEST’ ON MARCH 16

Seasoned dance choreograp­her Nilan Maligaspe’s latest contempora­ry dance drama ‘‘Another Tempest’ (Shango shango shango ho!) will be held at the Lionel Wendt in Colombo on March 16 at 7 pm.

This is the 2010/2012 production of Nilan’s Arpeggio Creative Dance Academy.

Incidental­ly Nilan also won the best choreograp­her award at the 2011 Derana Music Awards ceremony recently for Nirosha Virajini’s song ‘Piyanowa’.

“We are presenting this programme after months of hectic training sessions by the dedicated students of my academy. This is indeed going to be a different experience for the audience as well. My Academy select children from rural areas every year and give them extensive training. This show also features the talents of both new and old

stu- dents of my academy. This is the 7th production done by this academy. This programme has been booked for a French Festival in three months time. I am grateful to all my sponsors and all who have supported my endeavours. We are focusing on historical themes for local and foreign production­s in the future,” said Nilan.
