CIM organises Talking Point

-

The CIM Talking Point titled ‘The PAVA (sin) of not thinking local’ organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Sri Lanka Region will be held on March 28, at Galadari Hotel.

The keynote speaker for the event, Sarva Integrated Managing Director Chrishantha Jayasinghe (CJ) will speak at length on how local thinking leads to winning more market share.

Having both account management and creative experience working for J Walter Thompson, Phoenix O&M, Q&E and Sarva, CJ has obtained a unique ability to understand and develop campaigns that address the needs of clients as well as consumers alike.

CJ’S passion towards developing campaigns that are thought-out from local perspective using local insights have seen many brands gaining share of market and becoming market leaders in addition to winning several accolades for effective advertising.

The event will include a panel discussion with renowned marketers and industry experts namely Ceylon Biscuits Limited Group Director/head of Marketing and Sales Nandana Wickramage, Heensare (Pvt) Ltd Director Dileepa Abeysekera, and Breakthrough Business Intelligence Senior Research Director Dilini Jayasuriya who will share their thoughts and views.

In today’s intensely competitive market environment, marketers are in constant search for more cost effective ways to make an impact through their advertising spend. In such a backdrop, the need to talk to consumers in a language they understand becomes crucial, mak- ing share of heart more essential than share of voice. CJ will address the importance of developing creative thoughts and strategies based on local insights and metaphors and demonstrate how thinking locally, specially in communication, can contribute to winning more hearts and market share. He will share his experiences on how locally inspired communication strategies have been successful and reveal the importance of applying such strategies to the newly emerging markets in the North East.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region organises many versatile events catering to the varying needs of its members thereby adding value to its membership and contributing towards excellence in the marketing profession of Sri Lanka.
