Ravi vs.bandula:debate tomorrow

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardane and UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake have decided to participate in a public de- bate tomorrow on the former’s assertion that an income of Rs.7,500 a month would suffice for a family of three to live on.

Mr. Gunawardane said that he had agreed to have this debate with Mr. Karunanayake over a private TV channel at 9.30 pm.

“I am going to prove how a family of three can meet its food requirements on Rs. 7500 a month and survive without starving to death,” he said. Mr.

that he too had visited rural areas such as Welioya in the Anuradhapura district yesterday to seek the views of people regarding Mr. Gunawardane’s statement.
