Janashakth­i Insurance PLC together with Women in Management (WIM) present ‘Abhimani', an inspiratio­nal talk show which will be aired on Siyatha TV and will feature a lineup of prominent women personalit­ies including Sri Lanka's first woman President Chandrika Bandaranai­ke Kumaratung­a, Olympic silver medalist Susanthika Jayasinghe, Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranay­ake, LOLC and Browns CEO Rohini Nanayakkar­a, and Attorney General Shanthi Eva Wanasundar­a,to name a few.

Telecast for thirty minutes every Sunday at 8.30pm, the programme showcases successful women who have been instrument­al in shaping their respective spheres of expertise and enjoy success in their profession­al and personal lives. It aims to inspire and enlighten young Sri Lankan women of the challenges faced by women today and provides a framework for discussion of women's issues and constructi­ve ways of dealing with those challenges.

“Janashakth­i Insurance General Manager Ms. Dayalinie Abeygunawa­rdena said the company was proud to be associated with Abhimani and the efforts by Siyatha TV'S programme to showcase women who are role models in our community.

The proceeds of the programme will be utilised to empower and guide ten single mothers by providing them with the necessary skills to start up their own businesses and have the opportunit­y to provide for their families and educate their children.

Women in Management, an organisati­on for profession­al, career and business-women in Sri Lanka, has implemente­d and conducted programmes with the aim of inspiring, motivating and uplifting the lives of Sri Lankan women since 2010. The organisati­on has propelled initiative­s targeting women's developmen­t through numerous programmes, including the introducti­on of the country's first Profession­al and Career Women Awards, motivation­al forums and CSR projects.

As an equal opportunit­y employer, the senior ranks within Janashakth­i's Management Committee comprises over 50% women providing valuable leadership to the Company, and currently 31% of Company staff are female, an increase from 28% the previous year.
