Gold chain robbers in custody

Two men who were wanted by the police for carrying out a number of gold chain robberies in the Sapugaskanda area were taken into custody during a special raid carried out in the area.

The value of the robbed gold chains is estimated at around Rs.400,000. Number of complaints had been lodged by the residents of the area against them.

Police said that the two men are now held under detention orders and will be produced in courts shortly. The Sapugaskanda Police are now investigating to recover the robbed items that have been hidden by the two suspects.
