Exam Dept. to allow AL application without OL
Department of Examinations had taken a new step to allow those who wish to sit for the GCE Advanced level examination without the GCE Ordinary Level qualification provided they apply for it privately.
However the Examination Commissioner General W. M. J. N. Pushpakumra said those candidates who are under 21 years of age will have to do the prescribed assessment projects. Those who are above 21 years of age are exempted from the assessment projects.
A student who wishes to sit for the A level examination privately will have to obtain the school leaving certificate in order to become eligible to sit for the A level exam privately.
