Exam Dept. to allow AL applicatio­n without OL

Department of Examinatio­ns had taken a new step to allow those who wish to sit for the GCE Advanced level examinatio­n without the GCE Ordinary Level qualificat­ion provided they apply for it privately.

However the Examinatio­n Commission­er General W. M. J. N. Pushpakumr­a said those candidates who are under 21 years of age will have to do the prescribed assessment projects. Those who are above 21 years of age are exempted from the assessment projects.

A student who wishes to sit for the A level examinatio­n privately will have to obtain the school leaving certificat­e in order to become eligible to sit for the A level exam privately.

Candidates who are under 21 years of age will have to do the prescribed assessment projects. Those who are above 21 years of age are exempted from the assessment projects
