Robes of victim monks sent to forensic lab
The blood-stained robes of the two Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya monks who were gruesomely killed recently, were sent for forensic examinations and the report would be produced once they are received, the Mirihana Police told Nugegoda Acting Magistrate Ms. Ramani Kularatna yesterday. They made this submission during the magisterial inquiry into the killing of the two monks Ven. Pitigala Gunasiri Thera and Ven. Boralesgamuwe Gunarathana Thera.
The suspects in this inquiry Pathirage Harsha Manjusri Manikirthi Perera and Pradeep Silva were to be produced before an identification parade yesterday. However, the parade was postponed for April 20 since the court was on vacation and on a request made by the police.
