Layman’s house converted into temple

A residential house of a layman at Homagama was converted into a temple and offered to the Mahasangha on Wednesday (4).
The owner of the house R. A. Wimalasena and his wife Gnanawathie Perera are resident in the USA. Their twostoried house at Katuwana Road, Homagama was named the ‘Wimalagnana Viharaya’ and handed over to the Sanghanayake of Japan, Chief Incumbent of the Mahabodhi Agrasharawaka Viharaya, and President of the Mahabodhi Society, Ven Banagala Upatissa Thera.
Ven. Moneragala Pannakitti Thera was appointed as the Chief Incumbent of the Viharaya. Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Education Minister Bandula Gunawardene, the distinguished invitees at the ceremony, laid the foundation stone for the proposed Cheithiya of the temple and were appointed its trustees. Maliban Manufactories Director A.J. Wimalasiri donated Rs.250,000 towards the maintainance of the temple.
