SLIIT trounce University of Colombo

Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) Malabe registered a convincing 3-1 win over University of Colombo in the final encounter of clinch the Men’s team tennis title at the open invitation inter University Tennis Championship 2012 concluded at the Kelaniya University tennis Courts last week.

Six teams from the University of Colombo, Kelaniya, SLIIT and APIIT participated in the tournament conducted by University of Kelaniya under the guidance of Tourna- ment Secretary CHOI, YOO, KYUNG matches were decided on best of five three singles and two doubles.

1st Singles – Harsha Chandrasiri (SLIIT) beat S.D.K. Sandaruwan (Colombo University) 6-0, 6-1

2nd Singles – Akila Peiris (SLIIT) beat Sachith Rangalle (Colombo University) 6-2, 6-1

3rd Singles – Kasun Hapuarachchi (SLIIT) lost to Oshada Perera (Colombo) 4-6, 6-3, 3-0 In the run up to the finals SLIIT beat APIIT 4-1 and beat Kelaniya University 5-0
