Anchor CELEBRATES 125 YEARS OF TRUSTED NUTRITION WITH SCHOOL ART COMPETITIO­N

More than 25 ,000 students from 125 Provincial Schools are expected to enter into Anchor’s ‘Nothing is Impossible If You Dream Big’ Art Competitio­n.

In celebratio­n of its 125th anniversar­y, Fonter ra’s flagship brand Anchor recently launched an art competitio­n and is already seeing a fantastic response with more than 7,500 entries received from the 20 schools to which the contest has been rolled out as of today.

The competitio­n based on the theme, ‘Nothing is I mpossible If You Dream Big’, is open to students from grades one to five from the selected schools, spread across several provinces. This competitio­n aims to encourage students to believe that no dream is too big, and to express their future aspiration­s through creative art.

“We want to nurture the achiever in every child by encouragin­g them to dream big and to express their ambitions through art” said Achyut Kasireddy, Managing D i r e c t o r, Fo n t e r r a Brands Lanka. “It’s been exciting for us to see such an enthusiast­ic response from the schools involved,” he added.

Students who enter the competitio­n represent their schools by submitting a drawing on the theme of ‘Nothing is I mpossible If You Dream Big’, denoting their dream career in the future. Anchor, a brand that has nourished people all around the world with its high- quality milk, is an integral part of the daily life of many families in Sri Lanka and will support this competitio­n along with principals and parents from the selected schools.

The j udging panel will consist of Mrs. Sybil Wetthasing­he, a renowned illustrato­r of children’s books, a n d M r. D. M . H Dissanayak­e, Assistant Director of Education, Special Education School and Administra­tion, Department of Education, Wester n Province. The winning

students will be rewarded with valuable gift vouchers and their respective schools will be able to choose from three gift options that will further encourage and advance the children’s education and talents. The winning schools will be given the option of sports equipment, musical instrument­s and reading material, depending on their respective interests.

Kasireddy added, “We are excited about this competitio­n which will encourage children to explore their imaginatio­n and provide them with a platform to think and dream big. Anchor has been partnering with mothers in providing children with the highest quality dairy nutrition for many years, so it is great to have the opportunit­y to look towards the future and positively impact the lives of these children.”
