The CAA and the consumer!

-

The stranglehold of the vicious fish and vegetable mafias being broken to clear the decks' so to say, for more effective broad-based outlays for consumer benefits was a most admirable breakthrough by the versatile Co-op Minister indeed! His follow-up on good work initiatives with his brainchild, the CAA, was just wondrous too. Unfortunately, the recent laboriously nurtured red ripe tomatoes dumping episode was a big catastrophe indeed for a ministry heaped with all good kudos so far. Shouldn't the tables have been turned and the golden opportunity grabbed to give much converted cheaper sauces, drinks, pickles, etc. to the public? The CAA should plan out a crash programme along with the sure overheads bound to occur.

I believe that the CAA should also look into another aspect of a consumer worry - promenades, sidewalks, Marine Drive which are used popularly by many health conscious fads! What about the middle and lower income folks who apart from exercising facilities do not even have the luxury of jogging shoes which are really far beyond their allotted income? Why can't the manufacturers be induced to develop simple tennis shoes which were popularly used by all school children and even the police at their regular morning drills? A piece of coarse canvas cloth, a foot strip of rubber and of course some gum is all that is needed.
